Heart Handmade Blog Got Etsy-ied!

31 Jan

I spent this past weekend in Phoenix, AZ nerding it up at a web developers conference. Much to my surprise (and delight) I sat down at my laptop this afternoon after the 6 hour drive home, and have found that Heart Handmade Blog has been mentioned on Etsy! Many thanks to Lisa of The Energy Shop for letting other crafters know about the featured crafter opportunities that exist here on HHB. (more…)

Moving Against the Grain

It’s wonderful to wake up in the morning and actually want to go to work. It’s an ideal situation, and I’m just ecstatic that I can do this for a living, and be creative again. To anyone who is reading this, if you’re not doing a job you love, start today. It’s totally worth it!

Gourmet Natural Lotions and other Goodies

I am a mom of 3 with two under the age of 3. I feel so strongly that we need to greatly reduce the exposure to chemicals and toxins in our children’s environment. A portion of Natural Grace sales are donated to the CNY Autism Speaks Organization. One in 110 Children are diagnosed with Autism and they now feel that there is a link between exposure to chemicals in their environment and Autism so as a company promoting natural products I want to help out.

Castoff Heirlooms Redesigned for Today

Most of SammysGrammy’s the items are created reusing materials, rather than letting those materials make the landfill mountain higher. When she re-imagines vintage linens, she’s am often impressed by the beautiful needlework that was done many, many years ago – most times by young girls for their “hope chests”, where they invested in their dreams of a future when they would be happily married.

I always love reading the sweet little messages that are left for me in the ‘odds and ends’ section of the crafter interviews. All I can say to you, Amy, is that you are most welcome – I can think of no better way to spend my time other than to give back to my fellow handmade crafters who put their time, energy and love into each and every stitch, snap and sparkle!

Simple, clean, modern jewelry.

I began making my own jewelry because I could never find exactly what I wanted in retail shops. Whenever I wore my creations friends, family and co-workers would always ask me where I bought my jewelry. When I told them I made it they started to ask if they could buy some.

It all started out as a hobby to pass the time, we manage an office together and there is a lot of down time. Someone said we should try selling our things on Etsy and before we new it we were! We love making new creations and sharing those creations with others.
