Random Facts About You?

I screen old scary films in my spare time. I go to the supermarket every Friday and always park too far away from the shop. I ran a marathon in April this year and and my foot still hurts. I love sleeping.

What got you started crafting?

I've always drawn and painted pictures frequently painting over something when I get bored of it. I recently started painting on plates because I love homewares and it felt like a fresh way to draw. I've always thought of pretty plates as functional art you can eat off.

What is your source of inspiration?

Living in a seaside town and the local's love/hate relationship with seagulls! Also, scary films inspire me because of the way they use fear and humour.

What have you made recently?

I recently made a new Brighton Pier plate. This was on a little vintage dish with lovely raised edges. Very different from my usual flat smooth surfaced plates. It took a while but the pier is so iconic.

Where do you sell your crafts presently?

I mainly sell through Etsy.com It's a website I had made purchases from before so I felt like I knew how it all worked. I have my first craft fair next month so I'll be selling face to face!

Why are handmade crafts important to you?

While there will always be a place for mass produced items (of which I own many) handmade and one of a kind items are more special.
