Handmade items have more heart and more of a story. When you buy from the marketplace, everything is so generic. With handmade, many times you can customize the piece to what you like and are not restrained by trends. The chance to have a one of a kind piece makes it very appealing to buy and make handmade.

One day I mentioned an interest in crocheting to a friend, who suggested we go to buy some yarn and hooks from a local craft shop and the rest is history as they say! I picked it up like I’d been doing it all my life, I think somehow what my mother showed us all those years ago was embedded in my very core! Suddenly, the apartment was full of crocheted items and I had friends making jokes about my husband coming home and finding a cosy around the microwave, which hasn’t happened yet, but there’s still time!

I’m happy on this first day of September to share with you one my most favorite people. Her eclectic perspective on everything shines through her work, and it’s always a pleasure for me to see the latest creation her mind has churned up. Congratulations on opening your Etsy store, your upcoming wedding and all the great things to come (make sure you fit a dance party in here and there)!

I like for everything that I make to be a little bit different or slightly off from what you’d expect- (and for it to include corduroy if at all possible). I like to alter shapes (if I’m going to make a wallet, I want it to be round, if I’m making a fabric covered box I want it to be a triangle box rather than square, if I’m embroidering I want to use a rough wool yarn instead of the typical smooth & satiny DMC floss).

I have been sewing since I was 18 year old, and as I reach 41 in February 2009 I realise life does begin at 40!
I take pride, love & care in all the work I do, so if you want something unusual, different, your own designs or fabric making up, just ask!
