What inspires you to create handmade??
Everything around me, really! I want to make everything that is cute and fashionable, and I frequent fabric shops to look for interesting fabrics that inspire me!

I think in this day and age, a lot of things are produced by machines. I feel that before the handmade movement really took off, many took handmade for granted.

I love every and anything DO IT Yourself. I love to make things, the whole process of learning how to do it, the the trial, the error and of course the very rewarding final product.

I am trained as a sculptor/model-maker. After having done work for large companies, I would simply like to make things that I want to make that I think others would like.

You can have something that is an original, or something that only has a few copies of it elsewhere in the world, or something customized precisely with you in mind, and I think everyone deserves to have something like that.

If you know where the fabric came from and you can choose organic or free-trade materials, and you are the laborer, you can have more control over your impact on the world and you can lighten your footprint. Lastly, I think we are in an era of personalization, when just buying mass-produced items everyone in the neighborhood has is finally losing its cache, and instead, when you make something for yourself to wear or to decorate your home, you can express your own personality through your creation rather than passively allowing a corporation to do it for you.

My grandmother used to try and teach me when I was little, but I could just never pick it up. I really wanted to learn to do something that she loved doing. I wish everyday she was here still to teach me, but I can feel her presence everytime I work on a crochet project.

I derive my inspiration from normal everyday things, like nature and its colors. I love natural beauty and colorful things, so I try to glimpse it in whatever I make.
