Gooco Goodness + Recycled Paper Stock + Imagination= Happiness!
Now, you may be saying to yourself (as I was) – what the h-e-double hockey sticks is a Gocco? Well, my friends, a Gocco is a Japanese style of printing that (without going into too much of the gory detail) basically allows you to do your own screenprinting at home. While they are compact and easy to use, be warned that there is only one company that makes the Gocco machine and all of their parts are proprietary – so (gasp) no running to Target when you run out of ink!

I get an indescribable joy out of making things with my hands. I love coming up with projects for myself, just so I can see a completed “something” at the end, after starting with a bunch of different pieces that seemed to be unrelated. It’s the process of taking things are different & organizing them in a way that makes them cohesive.

This southern gal has an eye for fresh typography and prefers the finer things in life – Coke and chocolate cake (although we’re not sure in what order).

I am what you would call a “clean creative”…my first scrapbook had whole pages that where actually color coordinated and made out of sticky notes. I am in love with office supplies and I have all the highlighters in the world in order to make color coordinated labels, tags, cards, etc… My favorite drawing utensil of choice, a sharpie, Why? Because they make clean lines and that makes me happy! Simply put, a clean creative is what happens when you mix creativity with organization skills. That would be ME. I grew up with two very “clean creative” parents who have always inspired me to write, draw, paint…. dream. Scuttle is the byproduct of their influence, My husbands constant support & mad web design skills and of course my aunt who gave her the nickname Scuttle many years ago.

What have you made recently?
I generally start a new design by looking through my collection of vintage images. One will usually jump out and me and then I start playing with collage ideas. I tend to work on several designs at once, switching back and forth as different ideas pop into my head. Once I have completed a design, I print it on FSC-certified paper. FSC-certified means that the paper is made only from well-managed forests, controlled sources, and recycled wood or fiber. I then cut, score, and fold the paper for cards, or mount the image for prints. I also hand cut and assemble envelopes for my cards.
