I lost my dad a few years ago. He passed away and I had a hard time letting him go. I was just starting my jewelry making back then and he was so proud of me. I have learned from this experience to live life to the fullest. Life is too short. Enjoy everyday with the ones you love and really really enjoy the ride!

Love and friendship are also huge inspirations for me as well. It’s such a great feeling to give someone a gift that you made and see their face knowing that you made that item.

I’ve co-developed the crafter’s society on Facebook. I truly believe in building a camraderie with fellow crafters instead of a competition. It makes growing a business much more fun! We work together to grow together and I believe this philosophy can reach out to everyone.

I’m inspired by so much in my life ~ from the other amazing artisans I admire and have come to call friends, to the wonderful support of my family, I find inspiration in so many aspects of my own life but more than anything I find it in the gratitude I feel each and everyday to be able to do what I love most and through the ability to touch the lives of others in a beautiful and positive way.

PINKO JEWELLERY was born out of sheer personal necessity to turn an everyday object into a piece of jewellery.
PINKO comes from Finnish words “pinni” and “koru”, meaning “hair grip” and “jewellery”. Finland hosts the World Design Capital 2012 – Helsinki. I happen to love Helsinki… and design.. and hair grips.

I’ve always thought about life not as odds ‘n’ ends, but as odds and evens. There are those in life that are paired with another and those left standing alone. That is the yin and yang of life. And then there are the evens that flank the odds. So when you have 2 and add 1, you have an odd and an even. Two can set one apart. And three is the most stable number there is consisting of one even and one odd.
