A portion of all my profits is donated to a local charity that helps fund volunteer firefighter’s in the Texas Panhandle. My grandmother was killed in 2006 by an enormous wildfire in Texas, and the fund was set up in her honor. Because she was my biggest role model, I find it only fitting to give back as much as I can.

I am inspired many times by my materials. The variety of yarn fibers, colors, textures are just so lovely. I’m also inspired by living my entire life in the northern parts of the US. Experiencing cold winters and hot summers causes one to have a large variety of clothing and accessories.

Knitted and Crocheted Baby Items

In the 6th grade, I learned to crochet for Girl Scouts. We made squares that were later sewn together to create afghans for the homeless. I have been knitting and crocheting hundreds of gifts and items since then!

Different things inspire me. Sometimes it’s a color, sometimes a texture, sometimes a mood. I often catch myself watching other people’s knitwear and figuring out how it was made. Also I have quite many stitch libraries and traditional Estonian knitting patterns. leafing those through always gives me some impulses.

Buying handmade items is so much more personal than buying something from the store. Someone put their hard work into it and made it special just for you. You also know that you are helping support that person, not just a money hungry corporation. Each item a crafter makes is one of a kind, as opposed to a mass produced item from a store.

I remember watching my grandmother crochet, since she lived too far from where we were living, my mom asked one of our adorable neighbors to teach me & she agreed. I first learned how to crochet & then knit when I was 9 years old and eventually made my first dish cloth which I gave to my mom. I also love to sew and eventually I would like to learn how to quilt. I just love to create and find it so relaxing.
