Today’s featured crafter is a heart attack survivor. She said, as a result of the experience, “It has made me appreciate life more and has inspired me to eat healthier, more carefully and include exercise in my routine. Also has made me appreciate living.”
Thank you Linda for sharing your story and being a part of Heart Handmade Blog.
FYI – You look just peachy in your picture – hard at work

We have both been creative in various forms from the time we were kids…but our collaboration started when James gifted me with another one of his amazing hand-drawn cards. This particular card featured an image of General Tom Thumb (since he knows I LOVE the circus) and I proclaimed “this would make an awesome embroidery”.

I always ask people what inspires them to craft, but today I have to say that Kathryn has inspired me. Reading through your entry, and the way you’ve used crafting through your recovery, is a reminder to us all of how wonderful of an outlet our crafts can be. Thank you so much for sharing your story, and inspiring others to follow in your footsteps to recovery. All the best!

As always, I love reading the little tidbits you all put into the odd-n-ends section of the featured crafter applications.
Janet included this disclaimer with hers – “I just got up and am only on my first cup of coffee so I hope my answers made sense. I’m kind of bleary eyed so I don’t want to edit to death or I will never send this.
”
Don’t worry the answers are PERFECT!

When you by handmade, you are supporting a living breathing individual and their ambitions. Being a consumer myself, I find it to be a very fulfilling way to shop. Our money has a voice, and what we purchase with that money has influence. I would much rather spend my hard earned cash on one of a kind hand made goodies. The quality is higher, plus it’s wonderful to know there will never be another piece exactly exactly alike.

Random Facts About You?
I always wear socks inside out. I lived in Hawaii for four years. I don’t like writing about myself
I grew up wearing clothes that were made by my Grandmom.
What have you made recently?
I recently made a bag using fabric from a dress. First I made a pattern. I’m not that good at explaining the process. I just see something in my mind and then I make it.
What got you started crafting?
My Grandmom and Great Grandmom taught me how to crochet when I was 5. I made a chain that circled the entire house! The obession started there. Gradually my grandmom taught me how to sew and do beading.
