Jewelry making is my obsession, I just can’t get enough of it. You will always find different styles in my online store as I simply love to experiment with new techniques. I hope you find something you love at Little Red Head.
I can't get enough of zumba
I cannot, and will not eat the pips/inside of tomatoes - haven't done since I was a child!
My little boy's beautiful red curls inspired 'Little Red Head' to exist.
I am still scared of the dark (haha)
What got you started crafting?
Well, i've always been into sewing, card making and bits of jewelry making, but I became seriously into my jewelry making once I became a mum and gave up my day job. I am now truly obsessed and have taken over an entire bedroom with beads.....I can't imagine not wanting to create something everyday!
What is your source of inspiration?
Nature, colour, graphic arts, textiles, bohemia, retro and vintage styles.
What have you made recently?
I recently made a gorgeous asymmetrical necklace as part of the Art Bead Scene monthly challenge. Each peice of jewellery is to represent the monthly painting and colour palette provided. I mixed antique brass with a gorgeous ceramic focal, wire wrapped gemstones, pewter and large hammered rings, it was quite an unusual piece and I got lots of great feedback on this one. Winners were chosen at random. This item was snapped up really quickly at a craft market and as the lady wandered off with it smiling, I truly wish I had kept it for myself!
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
Online through my shop and Facebook.
I also sell my jewellery at local craft markets too.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
I choose handmade projects as they're unique, i'm not really a fan of mass produced items. Apart from IKEA essentials for the home as they're so affordable. I'm really into fabric, so I guess that's another reason why I love handmade as i'm fascinated with unusual floral and geometric patterns.
I also enjoy knowing that there's a lotta love been put into handmade items.
