Stop and smell the flowers, open your eyes and see the colors of spring, listen to birds and sing along, breathe, smile, love, laugh.
Wendie Colvin
Veteran, patriot, proud mother and wife, I stumbled upon crafting by accident! I believe in crafting from the heart, and each craft carries within it a piece of the artist. I also believe that we should stop and look back at our grandma's daily dealings, learn from them and perhaps, bring them back.
What got you started crafting?
After losing my day job of 8 years due to a downsizing, grief and sadness turned into purpose. I began crocheting, purchased a $40.00 30 year old burned out sewing machine, and just began learning, on my own, alone at home while my husband went to work and my son went to school.
I am now working again, but crafting is definitely here to stay!!!
What is your source of inspiration?
Nature, nature, nature and the beauty of all seasons.
What have you made recently?
The Americana Beach Bag-posted it on Etsy, my sister loved it, so I ended up finishing it for her. I have yet to give it to her, but have removed it from the website since then. I will make it again, as I think it is very patriotic, but super stylish.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
Mostly craft shows, friends, family, and our websites through Etsy and Zibbet.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
Why not? All creations are developed lovingly, and a piece of yourself always goes with it. Creating gives us time to think, reflect, and spiritually heal. Those are things that not only stay with you, but you can also share by gifting handmade and letting the recipient know you care.
