I absolutely loved reading this application, and am so happy to feature this mother and daughter jewelry making team! How the mother half of this duo finds the time to craft while raising and homeschooling 7 children is beyond me – can you send me some of the SuperWoman juice you’re drinking?!?! Best wishes for much future success for this dynamic jewelry creating duo.
Renee and Angela Nemethy
We are a mother/daughter jewelry making team.
Homeschooling family of 7 children.
Love horses! and cheerleading!
We love designing and creating jewelry.
What got you started crafting?
We have always done crafting and design. But once we tried jewelry making we were hooked. We love the opportunity it gives us to create new things and experiment with different techniques. We enjoy mixing and matching different materials.
What is your source of inspiration?
We get a lot of inspiration from nature, especially the beach. Some of our creative ideas come from the materials themselves - the colors and textures.
What have you made recently?
I - Renee - recently created a bracelet inspired by a photo of a sunset on the beach. The colors, shadows and images of the scene inspired the mix of materials and colors of the piece. It was a mix of blue-gray mother of pearl coins, golden dyed jade, gold colored glass chips, natural cone shells, sterling silver beads and a silver metal starfish all dangling from a chain link bracelet.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
We sell on our etsy shop and are building our website. Have also sold at home parties and charity fundraisers. We are considering doing an art show.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
There truly is something special about a handmade item! Each piece comes from the creative mind of the artist. The item has been made with care and attention to each little detail. There is usually a story or inspiration that accompanies each piece adding to the character of it. It is an expression of the artist.
