Fabric Flower and Headband Patterns

email

For so many reasons I love handmade goods! Each handmade item helps support small business entrepreneurs (a very hard endeavor). Each handmade item carries a piece of the creator with it. Each handmade item is unique in some way. Designers typically take their work very seriously and have great pride in their creations, making the quality amazing!!

Random Facts About You?

I adore Star Wars :)
I love playing in a warm rain
I think Audrey Hepburn is extremely sophisticated and classy. About the only quality that I possess that is Audrey Hepburn-ish is I love funny people and I love to laugh!!
I am the oldest of 10! 8 of which are boys.

What got you started crafting?

I use to think that crafting was for other people but I soon discovered that I have a style all my own. What a life changing thing to learn about myself! This has been a relatively recent discovery as I started an accessories business in 2009 and found that people liked my designs! I decided that because I have the heart of a teacher, my favorite thing to do would be to write my designs in a way that others could create them as well. You know when you are content doing what you love? I am definitely content!

What is your source of inspiration?

Others might disagree, but Heaven is my inspiration. I consider that all I have and am is a gift! That includes what I like. Truly I am inspired by flowers which I believe to be creations of a loving Heavenly Father.

What have you made recently?

My latest tutorial was for a bouquet that incorporates 2 of my patterns ( Pouting Princess & Glory). I remember visiting my charming Aunt Karen's home and seeing her silk bouquet lovingly displayed in a glass case for all to see. Just like Karen, I wanted other brides to look at their bouquets in the years to come and remember that with a little love and patience & hard work, things (and marriage) can last & last!

Where do you sell your crafts presently?

I sell at a couple of local stores, on Etsy, on my website and am now a Craftsy workshop instructor as well!

Why are handmade crafts important to you?

Each pattern I create is done after many many hours of dreaming, practicing, designing, photographing hundreds of pics and writing. I feel like my designs are a part of me.

Agreed – the detail she includes is absolutely astounding! It is almost as if she is sitting there with you walking you through the whole process :)

My grandmother used to try and teach me when I was little, but I could just never pick it up. I really wanted to learn to do something that she loved doing. I wish everyday she was here still to teach me, but I can feel her presence everytime I work on a crochet project.

Each item that I make is made with a great attention to detail and a lot of love. I will not sell an item that I would not put on my own daughter! Pin It

I choose handmade for lots of reasons. When I buy handmade, I am supporting small business and wonderfully talented artisans. Handmade products are superior to mass produced and more personal too. Handmade artisans make me feel unique and special rather than just another body buying another whatchamacallit. It is a more personal experience buying handmade.

Inspiration is something I don’t really believe much at all. I have references, like painters and designers but most of all, any random image on a magazine or real life can be the source of some drawings I’ve done. Anything can be pretty much inspiring to me.
