The Candy Tree started as a hobby for me but the more time I spend crafting, the more I dream of opening The Candy Tree boutique and becoming a full time crafter!

I started making reusable coffee cup cozies with swear words on them because I noticed that people tend to get sassier when they’re drinking their coffee- so I bring the cozies to where sassy people hang out.

Because Heart and Soul definitely goes into the process of making something by hand…I believe there is pride in line assembly, but there is definitely something less cookie cutter and more soulful about handmade goods…you know there is great care involved in making the product.

Right now she’s working on translating her blog to English, so in the meantime enjoy her AMAZING collection of handmade soaps!

I truly love classy things. I am a constant treasure finder. Whether at Goodwill, Antique stores, Consignment boutiques, I love a one of a kind treasure.

I have always loved all things natural and all things ethereal…combine the two and you have who I am, and also what I look like…an Antiqued Faery!

I live across the river from the city of Philadelphia. Atlantic City is less than an hour away. I love the area I call home…pinelands, beaches, state forests, woodlands, meadows. I share my home with a handsome husband and two cats.

My daughter didn’t want fresh flowers for her wedding. After seeing a design for button bouquets in a bride’s magazine, she asked me to make them but she wanted them to pop.  I took the idea and ran with it adding glitz and glamour, sparkles, tulle and ribbon.  We had a button party where the bridal party drank wine, ate hor-dourves and strung the buttons for their bouquets.  They all loved the results!

Why mass-produced? Why own a product that everyone else has? It’s so impersonal and boring. I would hate for a friend to visit my home and say ‘Oh we’ve got that in our lounge’. The following season, items are replaced with the new mass-produced predicted fashions. Additionally, handmade products are better quality, because so much care and thought is invested by the creator. I believe in supporting local communities and the UK economy.
