Handmade items have a warmth that regular marketplace items lack. They are more personal, more original. I love knowing that my customers have something noone else owns. I don’t doubt that every designer of handmade goods feels the same way.

I love handmade products. In my opinion it is much more fun to buy from a single person who is handcrafting their work, than a big company that has machines make the items. This way you know what you are buying is unique.

When I am not claying, I love to read and spend a bit too much time worrying about my two teenage children

I have recently made rings which have been created from a blank ring finding and vintage buttons from my mum’s button collection which are all approx. 50 years old.

Buying handmade is so much more rewarding than buying commercial. Handmade items are so much more beautiful, unique and creative. I am willing to pay a little more just to find a fun, unique item. I also like to be able to support other handmade business owners because I can understand and appreciate what goes into items because I am a seller myself.

My business is small and relatively new so I am having so much fun learning about the “handmade” marketplace, exploring and researching ways to make my albums better, and finding wonderful blogs like this one where crafters and artists can grow and share! I think that finding a business, as i have, and developing it organically is far more rewarding and enjoyable than working for anyone else, or even just running a business with small margins, heavy bills etc. To have an online store that you pay for as you use, and even then only a small amount, is far preferable. There are no massive bills waiting to scare me to death, and the payments are instant and secure, so no manual invoicing, chasing for money or any of the other time consuming aspects of a business.

I love it.
