Martha creates cute, colorful and custom hair bows and accessories! These would be a great gift for a child’s favorite character themed birthday party or just to add a little flare to the everyday school outfit!
I volunteer at my church in a group called MOPS, which stand for Mothers of PreSchoolers. I admire my mother because she is a single parent and is the strongest woman I know. I love making hair bows, headbands, rosettes, clippies, etc.
What got you started crafting?
My daughter gave me the push to do what I do. A friend made her 2 or 3 hair bows and told me that its easy to make. So then, I thought I should make my own daughter her hair bows so I did. Her first crochet headband with a hair attached that I made was ladybug themed to match her halloween costume. Now I create not just hair bows but headbands, rosettes, I decorate wipe cases, create homecoming mums, and fabric flowers.
What is your source of inspiration?
Jesus Christ who has given me the talent and my little girl to want to create beautiful hair bows.
What have you made recently?
I recently made a fabric flower. It's so cute! It's black and grey with tropical bright flowers. Because I make lots and lots of hair bows I like doing them differently. For ex: I can have 2 customers that want a Merida, BRAVE, hair bows. I wont make them identical. Ill change the location of the little hair bows, the color of the bottlecap, etc.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell my crafts on facebook. My business' page is www.facebook.com/SoulSisterBows
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
The BEST reason I can give is that when you go to a store and buy a hair bow, guess what, 20 other little girls will have that exact same hair bow BUT with handmade hair bows and items I can make it personal. In the bottlecap images I can put "HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY" rather than just buyong a pin that says happy birthday.
