Random Facts About You?I have a "thing" about snow. I love it more than anything, and then I moved to a part of the country that actually gets A LOT snow. Luckily, I still love it.
I have a "thing" about mice. That thing might be a little phobia-ish.
I have a "thing" for doughnuts. I kind of need to eat them all the time.
I have a "thing" for puns. The dumber, the better.
What got you started crafting?
I've always loved painted and have spent most of my days creating "work" paintings. I began my line of greeting cards so that I could have a "fun" painting option. It is so much fun to dream up all these little animals, and to imagine all the characteristics that make each one different. I like experimenting with lots of forms of crafting – felting, knitting, jewelry making, shrinky dinks – because I like to feel tangibly connected to what I'm working on. Anything that gets my hands dirty [but keeps the carpet clean!] is good by me.
What is your source of inspiration?
I love spotting great colors, organic patterns, and fun shapes in unexpected spaces. Sometimes I stare off into space, but I'm actually looking at a real thing, promise!
What have you made recently?
I've just started learning how to needle felt, and I think I might already be addicted. I had seen some adorable needle felted items, which convinced me to learn how to do the same just in time to give all my friends handmade holiday gifts. Now that I don't have that same deadline, I'm experimenting with different ways to play with the wool to resemble the same whimsical shapes in my illustrated animals. I just finished making a few felted ducks that incorporate a fun curly wool. Because this is still such a new craft for me, I'm totally smitten with these little guys!
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell my greeting cards and needle felted critters in shops across the county, online at my etsy shop, and [my favorite!] in craft shows that allow for one-on-one communications. I love hearing what people think about these paintings, and I LOVE to catch people smiling as they look through the designs.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
Handmade always wins with me. Everyone I know and love is so talented; why wouldn't I want my house to be covered with their awesome-ness?! Handmade creations of all types are so inspiring and much more satisfying than their big-box counterparts.

Thank you for highlighting this talented artist. Not only is Holly talented, she is a lovely and wonderful person, and an inspiration. Her art has inspired such creativity in my daughter, and we love her unique style.
I love these cards! The octopus with all the drink ware won me over! Well done, Holly!
She has a lovely unique style, the octopus and the giraffe are adorable. Holly how long does it take you paint each one?
Thanks for the very kind words everyone! Much appreciated! <3
Sherrie, the paintings vary in length of time to complete. Some, like the lamb image, fly by surprisingly fast! Others, like the drunktopus card, take forever because I keep revisiting the painting to add more and more detail! :]
