Crocheting for some people could get rather boring.. but I have found that as long as I have good company or a really good show on TV, I can sit and do my crochet work for a really long stretch of time! Plus I really love when I finish a piece and it turned out so cute!

What got you started crafting?
My oldest sister Jennifer really got me into crafting. She was always making something, or learning to make things she wanted... she taught me how to crochet when I was younger, but I put it on the back burner when I started making jewelry. I did jewelry for awhile, which was really fun! Eventually though I picked crocheting back up and taught myself the more difficult stitches and designs. Ultimately I was only crocheting, with the occasional jewelry request from friends!
What is your source of inspiration?
My niece Mya. On Feb. 20, 2009 she was born to Heaven. She didn't get to enjoy all the cool things I would have made for her while she was growing up. I donate a portion of all of my sales to The March of Dimes, a 6 mile walk to promote happy, healthy born babies. My family and I walk it every year in memory of Mya and my cousin's two babies as well that didn't make it.
What have you made recently?
I am trying to focus more on spring/Easter hats right now, so I made a really cute beanie with a double layering of flower on it. It's light and airy, and would be perfect for Easter Sunday!

Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell my crafts on Etsy. My shop name is Mya's Eyes Boutique.
I also sell my stuff at local craft shows during the months of September through December. Last year I set up at 10 craft shows! It was a lot of work but so much fun and I got to me some amazing crafters along the way. :-)
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
No gift is better than a handmade one. Whether you made it yourself or you bought it from someone else who handmade it, it just feels so good to support individuals who work so hard to make a product that people enjoy!
