This southern gal has an eye for fresh typography and prefers the finer things in life – Coke and chocolate cake (although we’re not sure in what order).

1. I'm truly Southern y'all, even though I don't like sweet tea!
2. My two favorite movies are "Dazed and Confused" and "Dumb and Dumber" -- in that order.
3. I could survive on chocolate and a canned cokes...
4. I love to shop, shop, shop! Anywhere and everywhere for things new and old.
What got you started crafting?
I've always been a crafter. I was born this way... it's in my blood!
What is your source of inspiration?
I find inspiration in everything from ceramic pieces and clothing to paintings and graphic design. I love to look at beautiful things.
I am mostly inspired by color and color combinations. My favorite colors right now are a pretty sky blue and light grass green. It's summer in the South, so that's what I see everyday, and it really does influence me.
What have you made recently?
The retro-inspired prints in organic patterns are the most recent addition to my Etsy shop. I was inspired by the color combination of a vintage wall paper pattern on a blog called Print & Pattern. It consisted of yellow, brown, and black. My design eventually morphed into the blue, yellow, and brown of the print as I put my own spin on it.
I drew the pattern with my favorite pen and scanned them in. Then I live-traced them in Illustrator (one of my favorite tools!) and copied and turned the image several times to make a pattern I loved.
They are really different than anything I've seen. I plan on introducing more patterned prints in coordinating colors.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell my paper goods online in my Etsy shop PaperRepublic.
I also take a lot of orders locally. People hear about my work through word of mouth. There's no better advertising than a satisfied customer :)
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
I really enjoy special one-of-a-kind things. Handmade goods have so much more character and personality than an object that was mass-produced. When you buy handmade goods you end up with a fun eclectic mix because someone put a lot of their time, effort, and personality into the piece.
