I'm creative in a lot of ways. I'm currently taking a break from the food industry, but I still thoroughly enjoy decorating cakes!
My main man is my 1 1/2 year old rescued Pitbull. I may talk to him like a baby but I haven't started pushing him around in a stroller yet.
My grandparents are in their 90's, I spend as much time with them as I possibly can. They were never to busy for me, or too tired, and they certainly never said had anything more important to do then watch over me...the least I can do is be there for them now.
My favorite place I have ever been is Detroit. As weird as it sounds that city "moved me". The combination of the deteriorated and the regrowth is amazing, not to mention how much history the city has. I have never seen such beautiful hearted people as those who reside in Detroit.
What got you started crafting?
I was never happy just doing just one thing at a time. When I was in grade school I used to sketch or bead when watching TV, glue little scraps of stuff together (much to my parents disdain) during car trips and "upcraft" everyyyythinggg with glitter! It's just naturally progressed throughout the years. After taking a break from the food world I was left with more free time for creating!
What is your source of inspiration?
Everything? I don't just have one source of inspiration, things catch my eye everywhere I go, and then my mind wanders off into how to make something or turn a found object into a usable piece.
What have you made recently?
I recently made my PomPom Flirt Bracelet which is a triple chain bracelet with multicolored textured beads. I remembered seeing the beads somewhere when I was younger and stumbled upon them again, I decided immediately that I had to do something with them! I also found a multicolored rhinestone bird and branch toggle, I spent about half an hour debating with myself over whether or not to use it on the same piece (Yes! It's adorable...No! It's too outrageous...Yes! It goes perfectly). I assembled the chains and then began to attach the beads, and then I attached more and more. Finally after I fit on all the beads I could on I stopped and looked at it and exclaimed something along the lines of "IT'S FANSTASTIC!!!". It's a statement piece that makes me and everyone who has seen it smile, and it just looks like something you could wear for an awesome occasion!
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I actually just began selling my jewelry on Etsy or through word of mouth to family and friends but I am looking to sign up for some local craft shows this spring.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
I want something to be made with love, normally you don't find a whole lot of that in a department store. Buying handmade is also an opportunity to connect with many different types of peoples for all different walks of life.
